The Beach, Saturday afternoon

Playing babysitter for the wee incarnation of his girlfriend hadn't been on Wyatt's agenda for the weekend, but he would do his best to deal and just hope that once the weekend was over, Fandom would restore her to normal. If not, he'd have to send her out to San Francisco to live with his five-year-old self or something.

He held Isabel's hand as he orbed them to the beach. "There you go," he said. "Where do you want to make your castle?"

Johnny was holding Savannah's hand and they were headed to town but they, uh, got sidetracked.

"This isn't Caritas, S'vannah. But it's the beach!"

Savannah looked around and then grinned.

"Look! It's Wyatt!"

She started moving towards the group, tugging Johnny along with her.

Wyatt blinked, trying to puzzle out who the two were. Blond boy, dark-haired girl. . . . "Savannah? Johnny?"

And the dark-headed girl hugged his legs. "'Course it's us!"

"Hi," Johnny said and kicked at the sand with the toe of his shoe.

"Hi, 'vannah!" Chris was excited to see his friends.

"Wanna build castles with us? Izzy's gonna be a princess," Chris said. "And we're gonna build Summer a castle too!"

"Hi Savannah," Summer greeted, smiling a little. She couldn't help it. The weetiny kids were adorable.

Savannah hugged Summer around the knees. "Hi Summer!"

Summer hugged her back and looked down at her. "You gonna help build a castle?"

"Hi, Johnny!" Chris shouted. "Come build castles with us!"

"Kay!" he yelled and ran towards Chris and slid to his knees in the sand. "I wanna big tower!"

Johnny waved back then plowed through the sand with his hands. "Whatcha playing?"

"We're building a castle," she told him. "With a tower for the princess."

"Hi Savannah!" she grinned. "Are you going to play with us?"

Savannah nodded. "Gonna help build a castle to protect the princess."

Summer waved at Johnny. "You gonna help the others build a castle?"

Johnny waved and rolled his tongue over his bottom lip while he scooped up sand. "Uh-huh. A big tall one for the princess."
