Room 226, Friday morning

Wyatt was in his room, staring at his phone. He knew he should call his mother -- both of them -- but he was having a hard time figuring out what to say to them. Hi, I turned evil, ask me how?

Chris really wasn't looking forward to this conversation, but he knew that Summer and Bridge were right and he needed to have it.

So he stood outside Wyatt's room for a few minutes, bolstering himself, before he knocked on the door.

"It's open," Wyatt called.

It took longer than it should have for Chris to push the door open and step hesitantly into the room.

"Hey, you busy?"

Wyatt tensed involuntarily. "No, not really," he said.

"Good," Chris said, sitting down at Wyatt's desk. "Um... about the other day..."

"Forget about it," Wyatt said. "Just glad you're okay now."

"I can't just forget about it," Chris said. "And I know you can't either."

Wyatt shrugged. "Doing my best not to think about it," he said. "I don't want to dwell on my little brother trying to beat the crap out of me."

Chris sighed. "I'm sorry about that," he said. "I just... I don't know how to deal with the memories I have from those other Chris's."

Wyatt stiffened. "Whatever Wyatt you remember . . . I'm not him," he said.

"I know that. But it scares the hell out of me that you could become like them," Chris said.

"Dude," Wyatt said, his voice tight. "You've known me your entire life. You know I'm not like that."

"And those Wyatts from other dimensions didn't start out like that either," Chris said.

"I'm not them!" Wyatt snapped.

"I don't want you to become them!" Chris snapped back.

"I'm not going to," Wyatt said flatly. "So you can stop worrying about it."

Chris rolled his eyes. "I'm not going to stop worrying about it. I want to help you."

"Help me what?" Wyatt said defensively. "You gonna follow me around and say, 'Oh, no, Wyatt, don't do that, it's eeeeeevil!'"

"I don't know, dude," Chris said, rubbing his face. "I just know that I feel responsible for making sure things don't go bad for us."

"You're not responsible for me," Wyatt said. "And I'm not going to run off and turn evil or something." He was in a bit of denial himself, because he remembered how exhilarating it was to use his powers anyway he saw fit, and how he lost it when he thought Isabel was dead.

Chris remembered that too. "I know you would never do it on purpose," he said. "But... you're really powerful, Wy. And it would be really easy for you to mis-use that power in the heat of the moment."

"Not gonna happen," Wyatt said firmly.

"I agree," Chris said. He was determined not to let it happen.

"So what's the problem then?" Wyatt said. "Seems like we're in agreement here."

"I guess there isn't one," Chris said. "I just stopped by to apologize for the other day."

"Don't worry about it," Wyatt said. He didn't want to think about how Chris could turn on him like that, or how much his alternate self enjoyed hurting his brother. That would give him nightmares for the rest of his life.

Chris didn't want to think about that either.

"So we're cool?"

"Yeah," Wyatt said. "We're cool."

Isabel had been out and about doing various handwavey things. But once they done, she turned up at Wyatt's door with a cooler bag and a blanket. A particularly astute observer might notice the ties to a bikini top poking out from under her shirt.

"Come on, it's a nice day out. No brooding allowed," she told him. "Let's go have a picnic."

Wyatt managed to grin at her. "Does that include sunbathing?"

"It might," she smiled. "But only if you'll put sunscreen on my back for me."

Isabel pretended to think about it. "Find me a topless beach where that won't get us arrested and I might consider it."

"I think I know one in Tahiti," Wyatt said. He grabbed a few things and stuffed them in a bag, then wrapped his arms around Isabel and orbed them away.
