Room 208, Monday evening

Two cats, one black, one white, stared at Wyatt from his bed. He'd taken them from his aunt's room after she'd left with Belthazor since someone needed to take care of them.

He just hoped Tannim liked cats.

Tannim returned to the room, but stopped just inside the doorway. "Where did the cats come from?" he asked.

"They're Phoebe and Bel's cats," Wyatt explained. "I can ask Chris to take them if you're allergic or anything. Hopefully they won't be here long."

"Wait, what happened to Phoebe?" Tannim asked. And sneezed.

"Awww, crap, dude, I'm sorry," Wyatt said. "I'll get them out of here. Phoebe...she went away last night. With Belthazor. And now I've gotta figure out a way to get to the Underworld to try to get her back."

"'S okay," Tannim said. He grabbed a box off his dresser and dry-swallowed a couple of tablets. "Do you know if he hurt her?" Tannim asked. "Where's the Underworld? Is it like Underhill?"

"She looked pretty willing to me," Wyatt sighed, flopping back on his bed, earning him a pair of feline glares. "I think he's messed with her head or something. She made a fireball, and that's a big time demon power. The Underworld -- that's where the demons in my world live. It's under San Francisco apparently a whole lot of caverns and tunnels under the earth."

"Maybe she's possessed, too," Tannim mused. He flopped down on his bed. "Man. This whole thing is seriously messed up. D'you know where there's an entrance to the Underworld?"

"Could be," Wyatt said. "And I don't know. Demons just shimmer in and out of it, I guess. I know there are portals around here but I don't know if we could use one to get there ourselves or anything."

Tannim considered this for a long moment, then said, "I might be able to create one."

Wyatt sat up suddenly (again annoying the cats) and looked at Tannim. "You can?"

"Maybe," Tannim said cautiously. "I mean, I know how to open a Gate to Underhill in theory, but I haven't done it yet. And I don't even know if it'd work for the Underworld."

"Worth a try," Wyatt said. "I mean, if it's not going to hurt you or anything."

"I should be safe," Tannim said. "I'd have to scry first - do you have anything of hers?" He glanced over at the cats. "Other then them, I mean."

Since Anders tended to come down the hallway past the common room on his way up from the gym or other such places, he happened to pass by Wyatt and Tannim's room en route back to Bridge's room -- where he was still staying, since Bridge was being so overprotective of him.

Still, he figured he'd be safe enough if he stopped in for a visit here, what with both of them having magic and all, so he knocked on the door.

"It's open!" Wyatt called out.

Anders let himself in and stared at the cats for a moment. "Cat-sitting, huh?"

"Somebody's gotta watch them now that Bel and Phoebe are gone," Wyatt said. "But Tannim's allergic, so I'm gonna ask Chris if he and Summer can take them."

"Sucks, dude," Anders said, frowning. "About the allergies, I mean. Not that you're stuck watching the cats, 'cause . . . yeah. Anything else going on tonight?"

"Not much," Wyatt said. "Been a quiet night so far. Well, I almost did something really dumb in Defense Against Malicious Magic today."

Anders raised an eyebrow. "What'd you almost do?"

"I almost fell for an illusion and walked into a trap," Wyatt said sheepishly.

"Oh, dude," Anders said. As if he wouldn't have fallen for it himself. "I hope it was a really good illusion at least."

"Excalibur," Wyatt said, just a little dreamily.

"Excali-what?" asked Anders, a little jealous of disturbed by the dreamy look on Wyatt's face.

"Dude, you don't know what Excalibur is?" Wyatt said. "Sometimes I forget you're not from around here. It's sword, belonged to King Arthur. He was king over in England hundreds of years ago. I love reading about that stuff."
