Room 208, Monday evening

Two cats, one black, one white, stared at Wyatt from his bed. He'd taken them from his aunt's room after she'd left with Belthazor since someone needed to take care of them.

He just hoped Tannim liked cats.

"Could be," Wyatt said. "And I don't know. Demons just shimmer in and out of it, I guess. I know there are portals around here but I don't know if we could use one to get there ourselves or anything."

Tannim considered this for a long moment, then said, "I might be able to create one."

Wyatt sat up suddenly (again annoying the cats) and looked at Tannim. "You can?"

"Maybe," Tannim said cautiously. "I mean, I know how to open a Gate to Underhill in theory, but I haven't done it yet. And I don't even know if it'd work for the Underworld."

"Worth a try," Wyatt said. "I mean, if it's not going to hurt you or anything."

"I should be safe," Tannim said. "I'd have to scry first - do you have anything of hers?" He glanced over at the cats. "Other then them, I mean."

"No, but I can get something, I can get into her room and there's plenty of stuff there," Wyatt said. "How big would this portal be? How many people could go through it?"

Tannim unwrapped a cherry lollipop and sucked at it. "I'd use a doorway for the framework, so - door sized. A few people? It's more how long I could hold it open. A Gate's an energy drain."

Wyatt nodded. "I'd have to talk to my mom to see who would need to go. She and Aunt Paige have to, because it'll take the two of them and Aunt Phoebe to vanquish the Source. And they'll probably need some people to help them."

Tannim nodded. "Okay." He paused, not wanting to point out the negative, but... "What if she is possessed, or worse? Do you have to have her for the spell to work?"

"Yeah," Wyatt said, frowning. "It's a Power of Three spell to destroy the Source. You need all three of them to do it. So we need to get to her first and...fix her, somehow."

"But your mom and your aunt, they've done stuff like this before, right?" Tannim asked hopefully. This was all starting to sound overwhelming and he was wondering if he should call Chinthliss for help.

"They've vanquished demons before, yeah," Wyatt said. "Just not one this powerful. But in my past, their future, they did it. They stopped him."

"That's good," Tannim said. "Then they should be able to do it this time."

"That's what I told Mom last night," Wyatt said. "We've got the spell to do it, we just have to get to the Underworld and get Phoebe and use it. Like that's gonna be easy."

"We don't really have any alternative," Tannim said. "Guess we'd better make it work." He gave Wyatt a half-smile.

Wyatt managed a smile back. "Yeah, we'd better," he agreed. "We can do it. Who knows, maybe that's why Chris and I ended up here."
