Wyatt was in his room, wondering if an excursion to the Underworld was such a bright idea after all.

"Hi," Lana said. "Wyatt? I'm hoping?"

"That's me," Wyatt said, wondering if Fandom High had suddenly come up with a cute girl delivery service. "I don't think we've met, though."

"Oh gosh, I'm sorry. I'm so rude" Lana said and offered her hand. "Hi, um, Lana Lang. Phoebe Halliwell's best friend? And, god, I'm really, really hoping that that you're one of her nephews."

"Yeah, Piper's my mom," Wyatt said, taking Lana's hand and maybe holding it for just a second too long. "Are you trying to find Phoebe or something?"

"I sort of know where she is," Lana admitted, gently disengaging her hand from his. "She came to see me on Friday. And I was kind of hoping that when they said on the radio that you were going to the Underworld that they meant you were going to the Underworld where Pheobe is."

She hesitated. "And that you'd bring me along."

"Wait, she came to see you?" Wyatt said. "What did she say? What did she do?" He ignored Lana's request for the time being.

"Yes, she came to see me," Lana repeated. "She was upset. Said Piper had..." tried to kill her "- thrown potions at her and stuff. She said she was down in the Underworld with Bel, who is now the Source of all Evil or something, but she is not evil. She's not, I'd swear to it."

"Okay, that's a good sign," Wyatt mused. "Means we can still get her back."

"Of course, we can still get her back. I can help get her back if I can just get down there," Lana said looking a bit desperate. "She'll listen to me."

"Whoa, wait a second," Wyatt said. "Unless you're an alien with mystical powers or know your way around a sword, you're not going anywhere. It's way too dangerous."

"Then you are going," Lana said, totally ignoring for the moment his refusal to bring her along. "A bunch of you are going."

"A few of us, yeah," Wyatt admitted. "We're going to get Aunt Phoebe back and...deal with the Source."

"Tonight?" Lana asked. "Because Phoebe thinks her new position as Queen of the Underworld puts her in the perfect place to help innocents as long as nobody down there finds out. And she thinks she can stop the Source from doing anything too bad. But if they find out what she's doing?"

Lana couldn't stop the shiver that ran through her and she rubbed her hands over her arms. "They'll kill her, Wyatt."

"Tomorrow," Wyatt said. "Tomorrow night. And from what I know of Uncle Cole, he won't let anybody hurt Phoebe. I guess even as the Source, he loves her."

"He does," Lana agreed. "He loves her desperately, but anything could happen down there. And the Source isn't Bel and if he wins out. Wyatt, you have to bring me along when you go. You have to!"

Wyatt felt a little torn. Having a good friend of Phoebe's with them might help, but he couldn't live with it if something happened to an innocent. "I'm sorry," he said reluctantly. "I can't."

"Please, Wyatt," Lana said, feeling her eyes start to fill. "I'm begging you here. Phoebe is my best friend. You can't just expect me to sit back and not do anything."

"It's too dangerous," Wyatt said, firmer now. "It's not place for somebody like you."

"What do you mean, somebody like me?" Lana demanded.

"No offense, but you don't have any powers or anything, do you?" Wyatt said.

"She's my friend," Lana said firmly. "I love her like a sister. That's got to count for something."

Damn her lack of any abilities.

"It does, but...it's just too dangerous," Wyatt said. "I can't let you go with us."

Lana swallowed hard, trying to fight back the tears that were starting. He wasn't going to change his mind. She could tell.

"Fine," she said finally, feeling anger rise inside of her and drive away the tears. "But if anything happens to her I'll find a way to make your life a living hell. I promise you that."

"We're gonna get her back," Wyatt said. "I promise."

"You'll have to forgive me if I don't find your promises reassuring," Lana said shakily, trying to maintain her composure till she could get out of there. "But you'd better."

"She's my aunt," Wyatt said. "I'm not going to let anything happen to her if I can help it."

Lana just shook her head at him. "I'd give my life for her," she said simply. "Would you do that?" She turned on her heel and headed for the door.
