Room 208, Monday morning/afternoon

Wyatt had handwavily borrowed the Book of Shadows from Chris and was flipping through its pages as he munched on a bowl of noddles.

No, he wasn't idly looking for information on how to possibly summon a Whitelighter.

Or any spell he could use to break up a couple.

Why would he do that?

Neil was coming in from spending some time outside stretching his legs. He'd been working his way up the stairs when his foot slipped and his soccer ball escaped down the hall.

"Drat it!" He cursed and chased after the ball which bumped into the doorframe of 208.

"Ack, hey sorry about th...oh, hello there Wyatt."

"Hey, Neil," Wyatt said, flipping the Book closed. "How's it going?"

"Pretty good, feels strange not having classes today." Neil scooped up the wayward ball and leaned against the doorframe.

"How about yourself? How are you doing?"

"Okay," Wyatt said. "Well, last night was kinda rough, what with the memorial for my aunt's boyfriend and meeting my mom's boyfriend who is not my father."

Neil just stood there for a moment and boggled.

"While I offer my condolances on the loss of your aunt's boyfriend, I have to say...some day I'm going to ask that question and someone is going to give me a nice answer like, 'my dog got run over and I have to have a root canal' and I'm just not going to know what to do with myself."

Wyatt grinned. "Yeah, nobody seems to have just ordinary problems around here, do they?" he said.

That made Neil chuckle and he nodded.

"Well, 'cept for us ordinary folks I suppose but yeah, it does kinda put things in perspective."

"I don't think anyone stays ordinary here for long," Wyatt pointed out.

Pausing to digest that thought, Neil grinned.

"Hmmm, maybe that could be my unordinary achievement then? I'll remain ordinary!"

Dark eyes twinkled a bit with good natured humor as he declared this.

"Good luck with that," Wyatt chuckled. "I don't think it's possible."

"One needs to have a positive attitude." Neil said primly, though his lips were twitching.

"And I think you'd have to avoid like two-thirds of the girls here," Wyatt said. "Which significantly reduces your dating pool."

Neil shook his head.

"I don't date." He said with a lopsided smile. "I'll live vicariously through helping you guys get the girls you like but that's all you."

Wyatt grinned. "C'mon," he teased. "There's no girl who has your eye?" He paused, then added just in case, "Or guy?"

Giving the ball a small bounce in his arms, Neil thought about it for a moment, then shook his head.

"No."

Wyatt shrugged. "More for me then," he said, not losing his grin.

"I wish you well of them and the unnecessay drama that comes with them." Neil agreed with a grin of his own.

After a moment's thought however, Neil sort of grinned.

"Though...there is someone but you know what they say about tilting at windmills."

"Gotcha," Wyatt said. "Don't want to jinx it?"

Neil gave his head a slight shake.

"Don't want to make being 'friends' awkward."

Wyatt winced. "Oh, dude, I totally get that," he said.

"Oh?" Neil asked with an impish little smirk cause it was totally a date!.

OMG IT WAS NOT "Nobody here," Wyatt hastily clarified. "But back home I ran into that once."

"Ah." Neil said, with an expression that indicated he might or might believe Wyatt but would let the subject drop.
