Room 208, Tuesday evening

Wyatt had the Book of Shadows on his desk, opened up to a page on ghosts. He'd actually put decent effort into tidying up the room.

He glanced at the clock, waiting for a knock at the door.

Right on seven o'clock Jo knocked on the door.

Wyatt answered the door with a smile. "Jo, hi," he said. "Come on in."

"Hey Wyatt," Jo smiled back, and came into the room. "So...nice place you've got here."

"It's weird rooming with someone again," Wyatt said. "I haven't shared a room with anyone since Chris and I were just kids."

"It's a whole new experience for me," Jo said with a shrug. "Some advantages to being an only child."

"Trust me, there are times Chris made me wish I was," Wyatt said with a grin. "But I wouldn't trade him for anything."

"Have to spend all your time keeping him out of trouble?" Jo asked.

[blessed_twice]

"More like bribing him to keep him from telling Grandpa I was out after curfew, stuff like that," Wyatt admitted sheepishly. "He was the good boy, all studying and no fun."

Which was pretty much what Chris had said last night, but it never hurt to get confirmation. "So does that make you the bad boy? Or just the one who knows how to have fun?"

"I like to think of it as knowing how to have a good time," Wyatt said with a wink. "Homework and grades aren't everything in life."

"Course not," Jo said, mock seriously. "There's also chores, working in the bar, making sure Ash isn't going to blow up the roadhouse."

Wyatt made a face. "You know what they say about all work and no play," he said.

"Makes you bad at poker and easy to get hustled."

"Got experience in that, I take it?" Wyatt asked, looking Jo over.

Jo put on her most innocent expression. "Oh, no, despite living my entire life in a roadhouse, I've never once played pool," she said. "I bet I'm really bad at it."

"I'll bet," Wyatt grinned. "How about we play a game sometime and see how bad you are?"

[wannabehunter]

"That sounds like fun," Jo said, smiling. "But careful, you might lose your shirt."

"That a promise?" Wyatt said.

[wannabehunter]

"Depends on who's the better player," Jo replied.

[blessed_twice]

"Definitely going to have to take you up on that," Wyatt said. He gestured toward his desk. "So, the Book. Want to see it?"

"Definitely," Jo said and went over towards his desk, she whistled. "Wow, looks old."

"It's been in the family for generations," Wyatt said, touching the leather-bound book. "It has all kinds of information about demons and how to vanquish them. Go ahead, you can touch it if you want."

[wannabehunter]

Jo carefully ran a finger along the page as she read the ghost banishing ritual. "Interesting," she said. "Most hunters just salt and burn the bones."

"I guess witches like things more complicated," Wyatt said. "I'll have to add a note about the salt thing. The Book protects itself, by the way. If you were evil, it wouldn't let you touch it."

"That's neat, since you wouldn't want demons getting their hands on this information," Jo said, then grinned. "And I imagine useful for when your kids bring dates home."
