The Beach, Saturday afternoon

Playing babysitter for the wee incarnation of his girlfriend hadn't been on Wyatt's agenda for the weekend, but he would do his best to deal and just hope that once the weekend was over, Fandom would restore her to normal. If not, he'd have to send her out to San Francisco to live with his five-year-old self or something.

He held Isabel's hand as he orbed them to the beach. "There you go," he said. "Where do you want to make your castle?"

Isabel ducked her head to hide from the dragon.

Wyatt turned around from his conversation with Summer and caught sight of the sand dragon. "Chris, what did you do?" he exclaimed.

"I made Izzy a dragon!" Chris said, looking rather proud of himself.

Yes, he did.

Too bad Isabel was still hiding from the dragon.

"That's very cool, but I'm a dragon slayer, so I have to slay the dragon," Wyatt said sternly. "It's scaring Isabel."

Chris pouted. "But she asked me to make it!"

"I did," she admitted. Although she was still hiding her eyes.

"Are you going to be mad if I make it go away, Chris?" Wyatt said. "You know you shouldn't use your powers like that."

Chris looked over at Izzy and saw how scared she looked and shook his head slowly. "Sorry," he said, still pouting a little.

Isabel started to wibble just a bit. She felt bad for not being brave and even worse for getting Chris in trouble. "I'm sorry to."

The dual wibbling was killing him. "I'll just send him somewhere else," he said. "I won't hurt him." Which put an end to thoughts of summoning Excalibur to slay the dragon, but somehow he figured the sword would be offended anyway. So he raised his hand and pointed to the flapping dragon and said, "Dragon of sand, go away, come again another day, my brother's spell I must undo and send you off to . . . Timbuktu."

Chris waved goodbye to the dragon.

"You okay, Izzy?"

Nodding slowly, Isabel smiled. "Uh-huh. Now I am," she said in a way that made it clear it was all due to Wyatt.

"No more dragons," Wyatt said. The way Isabel was looking at him was slightly unnerving. "Let's just keep the sand . . . sandy."
